October 2026 CPI is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 8:30 AM Eastern Time. For traders reviewing Kalshi’s monthly event, the practical task is to separate that release time from the earlier trading cutoff, expiration, and eventual payout. The BLS schedule remains subject to updates.
Primary sources checked: the BLS 2026 release calendar, the BLS November 2026 schedule, the BLS CPI release calendar, and Kalshi’s KXCPI-26OCT event API record. The visible source snapshot for this guide is September 13, 2026, at approximately 05:32 to 05:33 UTC. The guide was rechecked on October 20, 2026, at approximately 15:05 UTC; the recheck findings have their own section below.
The following compact calendar separates the economic report from the trading timestamps found in the September 13 source snapshot.
Calendar item | Verified detail
Reference month | October 2026
BLS release | Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 8:30 AM ET, which is 13:30 UTC
KXCPI-26OCT snapshot close | 8:25 AM ET, which is 13:25 UTC, based on the exact event record and nested market close times
October year-over-year event | Not listed by the requested API endpoint as of September 13, 2026
Generic CPI terms | 8:29 AM ET last trading time and 8:31 AM ET expiration, which conflicted with the exact event’s 8:25 AM cutoff on September 13; the October 20 recheck shows the exact event also closing at 8:29 AM ET
October 20 recheck | BLS release unchanged; KXCPI-26OCT now shows 12 active markets all closing 8:29 AM ET (13:29 UTC); the October year-over-year event is still not listed
November 10 falls after daylight saving time ends on November 1. New York will be on Eastern Standard Time, so 8:30 AM ET converts to 13:30 UTC. Traders should not assume a fixed UTC conversion across releases. For example, the September-data CPI release on October 14 occurred during Eastern Daylight Time, when 8:30 AM ET was 12:30 UTC.
The BLS November 2026 list-view schedule was re-read on October 20, 2026, at approximately 15:05 UTC. The entry is unchanged: the Consumer Price Index for October 2026 is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 8:30 AM ET, with Real Earnings for October the same morning. The schedule page still carries a Last Modified date of February 18, 2026. The surrounding macro week on that page remains JOLTS on November 3, Productivity and Costs for the third quarter on November 5, the Employment Situation for October on November 6, and the Producer Price Index on November 13.
Kalshi’s KXCPI-26OCT event was re-read on both public API endpoints (external and elections) with substantively identical results. The event now lists twelve nested markets, all marked active, up from seven in the September 13 snapshot. The threshold ladder runs from more than −0.1% through more than 1.0% in single-decimal steps, with no cap strikes. Every market shows close_time 2026-11-10T13:29:00Z (8:29 AM ET) and expected_expiration_time 2026-11-10T14:56:00Z. The market-level rules keep the strict single-decimal “increases by more than” wording and retain the government-shutdown extension contingency verbatim. Dated last prices ranged from 0.98 at the −0.1 threshold down to 0.01–0.02 at 0.6 and above; those numbers are recorded as a structure observation only, not a forecast.
The KXCPI series record still names the Bureau of Labor Statistics as its settlement source and links to bls.gov/cpi, the same clean link as in September. Unlike the payrolls series checked the same day, there is no settlement-URL mismatch to flag here.
The October year-over-year event is still not listed: the requested KXCPIYOY-26OCT endpoint returned a 404 again on October 20. The KXCPIYOY series exists and keeps BLS as its source, but its currently open events begin with KXCPIYOY-26NOV and KXCPIYOY-26DEC, while the monthly KXCPI series holds October, November, and December events. As before, that 404 is a dated observation, not a statement about what Kalshi will list later.
The KXCPI monthly series record names the Bureau of Labor Statistics as its settlement source and links to the generic CPI contract terms. Those terms define a signed, one-month percentage change in the seasonally adjusted CPI-U for all items, rounded to one decimal place.
That measure should not be confused with either of the following:
The BLS CPI homepage is the primary destination for the official report. The BLS calendar also schedules Real Earnings for 8:30 AM ET on November 10, but that is a separate release. No October CPI value, consensus estimate, or market-implied forecast is established by the sources reviewed for this advance guide. The general contract process is covered separately in this guide to CPI inflation market mechanics.
The exact September 13 API snapshot for KXCPI-26OCT returned an event titled “CPI in October,” with seven nested markets marked active at that time. Each nested record showed a close time of 2026-11-10T13:25:00Z. The event’s secondary rules also stated that the market would close at 8:25 AM ET on the scheduled release day.
However, the generic CPI terms PDF listed 8:29 AM ET as the last trading time and 8:31 AM ET as expiration. This guide does not treat either document as automatically controlling the other. Traders should compare the exact market page, event-specific rules, generic terms, and any subsequent updates directly on Kalshi before November 10.
The October 20 recheck changes this picture for the exact event. All twelve active KXCPI-26OCT markets now carry close_time 2026-11-10T13:29:00Z (8:29 AM ET), and the market-level secondary rules now state that the market will always close at 8:29 AM ET on the scheduled day of the data release. That matches the 8:29 AM ET last-trading time this guide recorded from the generic terms on September 13, so the earlier 8:25-versus-8:29 discrepancy no longer appears in the live event record. The same records now show an expected expiration time of 14:56 UTC (9:56 AM ET), which remains a separate administrative field from the 8:31 AM ET expiration figure in the September 13 terms read; this guide still treats expiration as an administrative timestamp, not proof of settlement at that minute.
Four timestamps must remain separate:
The exact October monthly rules also contain a contingency for a government shutdown that delays or affects the reliability of the source data. That clause should be read in full. Its existence does not predict a shutdown, a delay, a revised release date, or a particular payout result.
Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated, USD-settled prediction market and requires identity verification. Access can be available internationally subject to the Member Agreement, restricted jurisdictions, identity verification, and local law. The CFTC designated contract market record documents regulatory status, but it does not mean the CFTC approves this exact contract or guarantees universal availability.
Schedule reminders and related market notes may also appear in the @Kalshi_market channel, but final contract details should always come from Kalshi and the named settlement source.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics currently schedules the report for Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 8:30 AM Eastern Time. Because daylight saving time ends earlier that month, the scheduled release corresponds to 13:30 UTC. This is a planned calendar entry rather than a guarantee, so traders should recheck the BLS calendar before release day. The October 20, 2026, recheck found this schedule entry unchanged.
CPI reports are published after the reference month ends because BLS must collect, process, and prepare the underlying price data. “October 2026” identifies the period measured, while November 10 is the scheduled publication date. Calling it the November CPI report without clarifying the reference month can create confusion with November data scheduled for release in December. The October 20, 2026, recheck left this convention and the November 10 date unchanged.
The September 13 API snapshot for KXCPI-26OCT showed an 8:25 AM ET close on November 10, five minutes before the scheduled BLS release. The generic CPI terms PDF instead listed 8:29 AM ET for last trading and 8:31 AM ET for expiration. In the October 20, 2026, recheck, all twelve active markets closed at 8:29 AM ET (13:29 UTC) and the market-level rules stated an 8:29 AM ET close, matching the terms’ last-trading time, so the earlier 8:25 value no longer appears. Traders should still verify the exact current rules directly on Kalshi.
The requested October year-over-year event endpoint returned a 404 as of September 13, 2026, although the broader KXCPIYOY series existed and named BLS as its source. This only means that the specific October event was not returned in that dated snapshot. It does not establish whether Kalshi will list one later, when it might appear, or what its terms would be. On October 20, 2026, the 404 persisted and the series’ open events began with November and December 2026.
